This report presents the demographics of who buys pet food, pet supplies and medicines, pet services, and veterinary services.
Based on unpublished data collected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Consumer Expenditure Survey, the report examines how much Americans spend on their pets by the demographics that count—age, income, household type, region of residence, race and Hispanic origin, education, occupation, and homeownership status.
To round out the spending picture, it also presents “who-are-the-best-customers” analyses of the data, showing the demographics of household spending on pet food, pet supplies and medicines, pet services, and veterinary services at a glance.
