Dr Kobus du Toit is one of the pioneer wildlife veterinarians of Africa. He has specialized in the extensive capture, translocation and management of the large wild animals of Africa. In particular, he has acquired unique experience in the management of elephant, rhino and buffalo. He has supervised the capture and translocation of more than 400 elephant which included the pioneering relocation of family groups of elephant to private nature reserves and game ranch. "The large animals of Africa are running out of living space and if we are to save them, we have to become involved in managing them," he says.
