    Description:

Often wild animals experience high level of stress during restraint, capture, confinement, loading, unloading and the transportation process as well when they are adapting to new environment they have been moved to. Mortality of animals is reported frequently in the zoos, and this is of concern to the zoo personnel, veterinarians, NGOs working for animal welfare, animal welfare activists and the electronic media. A need for developing protocols that cover the major issues relating to the transportation of animals has been felt for long.
