Good stuff, but can anyone please provide clear instructions of how to make it working? Thanks in advance!

Both English version and Chinese version manuals of how to use the Brill software are included in the Winrar file, once you extracted the rar file, you can find them.

I have followed the instructions from the english version but when I am opening the program (Brill for Windows - optimisation) is asking for a name and a password.

Did you managed to install the program? Is it working for you?

Did anyone else had a simmilar problem or did anywone instaled it and is working fine?

the user name:super
and the password is blank (ie,no password).
when you firstly run the program, it will ask you to find a file named rdefault.dat which located in "C:\brill7".
i have used this software for two years, and it worked well for me!

this software was designed just for win 32 bit, so it can't be installed in Win 7 64 bit.

After I managed to get into program with the user and password provided, I realised that I have another problem.

Although the main manu is in english, the ingredients name are in some strange characters (not even chinese, there are just unrecognisable signs)

This is happening for example in "Nutrients list", "ingredients", prety much in the "name column"

If you did not understand my description, I can try to attach next time a print-screen.

Do you use the soft in chinese or in english?

i think i know what the description that you write as follow 'strange characters (not even chinese, there are just unrecognisable signs)' means. That's because your current 'system locale' is not in Chinese (Simplified, PRC). This setting (system locale) in Windows 7 controls the language used when displaying text in programs that do not support Unicode. Obviously, the text in Brill don't support Unicode, so when the system locale is changed to another no english or Chinese language locale, the ingredients and nutrients names and datas inputed in English or Chinese charater by previous user can not be displayed normally.
but this problem do not a real problem for you to work with Brill. the solution of the problem are as follow: 1)delete all the ingredients and nutrients in Brill; 2)then input the ingredients and nutrients name and nutrients values according to your preferences by youself again; 3)you can find that the text you input can be displayed normallly and in you own way! Good luck!
