The Trypanosomes of Mammals - A Zoological Monograph
    By Cecil A. Hoare

    Pages: 749
    Publisher: --
    Edition: 1st., 1972
    Language: English
    ISBN: 978-0632082003

    Description

This volume concentrates upon the zoology of the genus Trypanosoma, and is restricted to those species which parasitize mammals throughout the world. Morphology, systematics, life histories and host-parasite relationships especially are considered in some detail, although physiology and ultrastructure are also considered. The treatment of the subject is based upon the author's own revision of the group, the value of which becomes immediately apparent. There is also an extensive host-parasite check-list. In this monograph an attempt is made to present up-to-date knowledge, based on a critical reappraisal and revision of existing data relating to the systematics, life-histories, parasitology, and host-parasite relations of all the know mammalian trypanosomes, irrespective of their medical veterinary importance
