Conservation of Endangered Species in Captivity
An Interdisciplinary Approach
by Edward Gibbons
Pages: 765
Publisher: --
Edition: 1995
Language: English
ISBN: 978-0791419126
Description
The idea for a book focusing on endangered species in captivity grew out of a conference held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York in 1985. The conference organizers and editors of this volume wish to thank Dr. Ethel Tobach and the Museum for providing a forum for our initial venture. Much time and effort has been invested since that gathering, and this book owes a debt of appreciation to many individuals. In particular, the editors extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Katherine Wilson for her dedicated attention to detail and unfailing sense of humor in compiling, confirming, and editing the volume's references and citations. A note of appreciation is also extended to the library staffs at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, the Zoological Society of San Diego (in particular Linda Coates and Courtney Martin), Monmouth College, and the University of Michigan for their help in locating, obtaining and/or verifying obscure references and esoteric journals.
Enjoy!
