International Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society (IVECCS) 2010 Conference Proceedings
This year’s program has been designed by the Scientific Program Committee, headed by Dr. Elisa Mazzaferro in her inaugural role as the Scientific Program Chair, to bring you cutting edge information, practical reviews and take-home tips. Special attention has been paid to include numerous sessions specific to large animal, avian, exotic and companion animal medicine, as well as veterinary technicians, hospital staff, and those involved in practice management.
The Theme for this year’s IVECCS is “Delivering Emergency and Critical Care in Today’s World”. We will have a broad selection of lectures, workshops; small group discussion sessions, and research presentations. With our theme in mind we will have a session on “Running Your ER in Today’s World”, a session on “Designing ICU Orders and Flow Sheets”, and a session entitled “Bureaulogical Disorders: The Business of Doing Business”. Returning this year is our popular “Nurse Managers Skills Workshop” and the thought provoking session, “Ethical Issues in Critical Care”. In our large animal track we have great topics such as “Team Building in Large Animal ECC” or the panel discussion “Communication with Referring Veterinarians is Critical in Critical Care”. Not to worry, our core lecture modules are present. We have modules that address Analgesia/Anesthesia, Shock/Trauma, Imaging and Interventional Radiology, Monitoring, Feline Medicine and much more. Simply put, as an IVECCS participant you can choose from comprehensive resources to maximize your contributions to patient and client care.
